Internship - Mechanical Engineering - Entry Level - Winter/Spring 2025

Our product lines include piezoelectric-based nano positioners, motorized stepper and servo stages, and linear motor stages. We have an immediate opening for anInternship - Mechanical Engineering - Entry Level forcurrently enrolled students who are self-directed and ambitious. The Internship - Mechanical Engineering - Entry Level will be based in our Hopkinton MA location, supporting manufacturing operations.

 

What You Will Do: 

  • This is a full-time paid internship.
  • Our ideal candidate will be enrolled in school, enjoys building mechanical and electrical things and is looking to start a career as a mechanical engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • This is a hands-on role designed to introduce you to our very cool instruments and technology.
  • Prepare detail and assembly drawings for precision motion systems.
  • Provide general CAD support to design engineers.
  • Generate 2D CAD drawings from 3D solid model layouts.
  • Load design information into PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
  • You will work on a variety of engineering projects across multiple industries, and tasks will range from research and development to building and testing instruments.

 

      What You Have Done: 

  • 0 years of experience.  We will provide hands on training for the right candidate.
  • US Citizen or Green Card required – evidence of permanent ability to live and work in the US is an employment contingency for this position.
  • Experience with using SolidWorks CAD is preferred.
  • Some experience with the manufacturing process is encouraged.
  • Vocational school in engineering technology or metal fabrication is highly desirable.
  • Coursework or specialization in technical school, mechanics, or mechanical engineering will strengthen your candidacy.  

 

Additional Details:  

  • Students typically work 40 hours a week, but hours can be flexible. All work needs to be conducted during our core business hours; the exact hours can be discussed with your manager.
